jailbreaking easy for any iPhone model. As Apple has stopped signing iOS
9.3.3 firmware almost a month after the company released the said
firmware to public. Now Apple typically stops signing a firmware few
days after releasing it to public, but in the case of iOS 9.3.3, it was
different. This was because iOS 9.3.3 was botched with issues right after
it went live in mid-to-late March. First there was an activation issue
that affected some older iPhones and iPads, then there was links not
opening bug that started crashing newer iOS devices whenever a link was
tapped in Safari or any third-party app. Jailbreak iPhone 6s plus, 6
plus, 4s, 5s and iPod Touch.
Late last month, Apple released iOS 9.3.2 to fix all of the above mentioned bugs, and now after more than two weeks of making 9.3.3 available to public, Apple has finally decided to stop signing iOS 9.3 firmware, killing any future upgrade or downgrade to the said firmware in the process. But what does that mean for both jailbreak and non-jailbreak users?
But if you are iOS 9.3.3 or 9.3.2, and care about jailbreaking, you may want to stay on those older firmwares. This is because if the recent release of iOS 9.1 jailbreak has taught us anything, it’s to stay on as low firmware version as possible to take advantage of any future jailbreak release.
Well, since iOS 9.3 and iOS 9.3.1 are pretty much the same firmwares in terms of security, it shouldn’t affect anyone. If you are on iOS 9.3, you should really be on iOS 9.3.1 whether you are a jailbreak user or not. This is because as mentioned earlier, iOS 9.3 and 9.3.1 are identical in terms of security patches, with the only difference being the fixes for bugs in the later firmware. Currently, there is no jailbreak available for iOS 9.2, 9.2.1, 9.3 and iOS 9.3.1. The last public jailbreak released was for iOS 9.1. And now with Apple already already testing iOS 9.3.2, it is likely that those involved in making jailbreaks will be waiting until final release of iOS 9.3.2 before making any new jailbreak public, that is of course if they plan on releasing one soon.
